Internships
Applications for our 2023 Graduate Internship Programme are now open!
Charlotte Street Partners is hiring motivated, curious, engaged individuals, with an outstanding command of the written word, who wish to kickstart a career in strategic communications
We value difference, candour and positivity. We do not ask for the usual CV or cover letter. What matters to us is your talent and potential, not background.
Our programme offers the opportunity to develop research and writing skills on public affairs and public relations briefs. It provides a brilliant grounding for a range of careers, including the prospect of advancement at Charlotte Street Partners.
If you have a unique take on current affairs, a journalistic flair or a political sixth sense, we would love to hear from you. Ideal candidates will be proactive in their approach with excellent interpersonal skills, working seamlessly with the wider team.
HOW TO APPLY
If this sounds like you, write a maximum 400-word piece on a topic of your choice in the style of our View from the Street series and email as a Word attachment by 15 March 2023. Your work will be assessed anonymously, so please do not include any personal details on your attached piece; however, do include your name and contact details in the body of the email.
Applicants who advance beyond the writing stage will be invited to interview, to take place week commencing 3 April 2023.
Internships are full time and paid the Scottish real living wage. Successful candidates will be expected to work from our Edinburgh office, with the option to work some days from home. Placements run from June to September for a minimum of six weeks.
If you have any questions about the process, please do get in touch.
We invite applicants to fill in a voluntary equality and diversity monitoring form. Responses are entirely anonymous and play no role in the assessment of your application. Applicants need to have the right to work in the UK.

Our difference
Want to join one of Scotland’s most respected corporate communications consultancies, working with some of the world’s best known brands?
More importantly, do you want to work as part of a team that truly cares about each other, our clients, and the impact we’re making together in Scotland, the UK and around the world?
If so, Charlotte Street Partners is the place for you.
We are a young, forward-thinking strategic communications consultancy that trades on our intelligence and ability to give great advice.
We really don’t like the “dog eat dog” reputation that communications consultancies have. Instead, we’d much rather have each other’s backs. We know that it’s our people that make Charlotte Street Partners and are proud of every single member of our team and the difference they make every day.
We are committed to creating a friendly, open, and empowering place to work. We want people to be themselves because we believe when they do, they’re at their best.
In support of wellbeing for everyone at Charlotte Street Partners, we offer an enhanced benefits package, including;
- flexible and hybrid working
- enhanced pension
- extensive private health insurance
- expert mental wellbeing support from external, qualified practitioners
- life insurance
- a generous performance-related bonus scheme
- membership to professional bodies
- an individual training budget for every employee
- dedicated mentor
- duvet days
- …and much more!
We’re relaxed, but professional; fun but serious when our work requires it.
We believe in structure, but not hierarchy.
Our company culture revolves around four values:
DIFFERENCE
We value difference and respect it in people, backgrounds, perspectives, experiences and points of view.
CANDOUR
We tell people what we think, choosing to give the advice people need to hear and not what they may want to hear. Our advice is anchored in truth, experience and perspective, always.
POSITIVITY
Our positivity, enthusiasm and energy are at the heart of our character as individuals and a team. We look for the best in people and situations, seeking opportunity, often in the least obvious places.
TOGETHERNESS
We are at our best when we work together, supporting and challenging our clients and colleagues to always be better tomorrow than they were today. Together, we make the difference.
If these values resonate with you, we want to hear from you.

I couldn’t recommend the intern programme enough. Working at Charlotte Street Partners means you are part of a team comprised of some of the best minds in the business. The opportunity to be in a room with them, and to benefit from their guidance and expertise, is an incredible privilege and has provided me with experience that I know will serve me well in whatever I choose to do next.
