Chris is Reform Scotland’s Director, and one of Scotland’s leading journalists and commentators. He is Scotland Editor of the New Statesman and writes for a wide variety of publications, including the Financial Times, The Economist, the Press & Journal and the Big Issue.

Chris has worked in senior positions at several of Britain’s top newspaper titles, including as Head of Comment at The Telegraph, Executive Editor of Scotland on Sunday, and as a columnist for the Daily Mail. He has twice been voted Scotland’s Columnist of the Year. Chris has also worked at the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government. In 2014, he was part of the founding team at Charlotte Street Partners working at the company for two years. He coaches better writing skills at many of the UK’s most prestigious companies and organisations.
