In an evenly divided nation, we all agree on one thing – despite today’s verdict, this issue isn’t going away anytime soon.

The Supreme Court of the United Kingdom today ruled against the Scottish government’s argument that the Scottish parliament should be able to legislate for another independence referendum without the consent of the UK parliament at Westminster, but the politics of it all now enters a new, potentially trickier phase.
